Small Groups

Goochland Small Groups meet at least twice a month for Bible study, fellowship, and prayer.

On their own, “small groups” can mean Bible studies, prayer gatherings, or casual meetups. But at Goochland Presbyterian, they're something more.

Our Small Groups meet at least twice a month for Bible study, fellowship, and prayer—and they serve as places where we are deeply known and loved in Christ. They're also the places from which we are sent out into the world—into our neighborhoods, our vocations, and our families—with one another and with Christ going before us.

To Know and Be Known

We all have a deep-seated desire to be known and to know others, to find a place where we are seen, understood, and truly belong. As Tim Keller says, “Ultimate reality is a community of persons who know and love one another. That is what the universe, God, history, and life is all about.” At Goochland Presbyterian Church, our Small Groups are designed to foster this authentic community, moving beyond superficial connections. Rooted in the biblical truth that God is forging a new community with Himself at its center, these groups provide a space for us to be the church to one another. It's an opportunity to grow in face-to-face relationships and truly embody the gospel message together, helping us to know for certain that we are known and loved by God and by each other.

A Space for Real Change

Our small groups are a place for real change—not through quick fixes or self-help strategies, but through God's abundant grace and the power of Scripture. Each group is a supportive community where we can work through a continuous, curious re-discovery of the depths of the gospel. By coming together, we can challenge one another to become more like Christ, turning from our idols and embracing the freedom that comes from knowing we are forgiven, accepted, and adopted. From this foundation of belonging, we are then sent out into our neighborhoods, workplaces, and families to serve with the knowledge that Jesus Christ goes with us. If you're looking for a deeper way to engage with your faith and build meaningful relationships, we invite you to sign up for a small group today.
