About Goochland Pres
At Goochland Presbyterian Church, we are committed to building a Christ-centered community where faith grows, love abounds, and lives are transformed.
What Grounds Us
Our Core Beliefs
We are a people who are grounded in Jesus Christ
The Gospel, as presented in the Scriptures, reveals Jesus Christ as the source and substance of the message of the church. In a world filled with uncertainty, we take refuge in the crucified and risen Lord. He is a perfect and loving Savior, and we can approach Him confidently, receive His mercy and find strength in the Holy Spirit. This is not because of anything we have done, but because of God's work on our behalf (Eph. 2:8-10). We can rest, trusting that the One who conquered sin and death will uphold us by His power. Being grounded in the gracious gospel of Jesus, as explained in the historical creeds and confessions of the church in the reformed faith, we can be a people who are grounded.

What We Believe
As a mission church in the James River Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), we are deeply committed to the authority of Scripture, the historic Christian faith, and the transforming power of the Gospel. We believe that the good news of Jesus—His perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection—is not just the foundation of our faith but the lens through which we view all of life.
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, and this truth shapes everything we do, from worship to discipleship to our engagement with the world. The Gospel is not only our means of salvation but also the power that renews our hearts, restores relationships, and fuels our mission. The Gospel changes everything!
We are a missional church, believing that God calls His people to participate in His work of renewal and restoration. The Gospel compels us to love our neighbors, seek justice, and be a faithful presence in our city and culture. We desire to engage both the heart and mind, communicating the hope of Christ in a way that is thoughtful, gracious, and compelling.
